Hi Everyone
Just a comment I must be unique over the last 2 weeks I have spent around 5 hours on the phone to customer services to try and sort a problem out yesterday Friday 22nd Jan I finally thought I had got my wife and myself back on pay and go instead of being assured that the monthly tariff had being cancelled 5 days ago. I find out they still went ahead and set a direct debit monthly payment up
What is wrong with these people

Hi @Anonymous
Did you actually take out a contract and cancel within the 14 day cooling off period?
Are you sorted now and on PAYG?
Info here on cancelling your contract. http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Pay-Monthly-and-Pay-Go/Cancelling-Your-Contract-A-Guide/m-p/566774/highlight/true#M56526
if you have been told your contract is eventually cancelled then make sure you have paid any monies owing before you cancel your direct debit... You can check all this via My O2 http://www.o2.co.uk/myo2
NB Edited for spelling!

Any problems normally revolve around the sequence of events. A direct debit would have automatically been set up when an account is taken out. After cancelling a contract the cancellation of Direct debits is the responsibility of the account holder. Just make sure there are no outstanding charges otherwise you could be hit with a default on your credit file, o2 don't inform you apparently and many people don't find out until months or even years down the line when a mortgage or other service contact is applied for.
