ayup!

I've handed my sim to my boyfriend, so I'd like to change my account on his name. Is it complicated?

You can't just change names unfortunately.
To get an account I'm a different name that person must start their own new one.
You can still transfer the number to the new account though.

@Anonymous As said, you cannot change names on your account. Also be aware that as the sim is still in your name, you are responsible for any charges on that number, and the bill will still come to you. If the sim is for a pay monthly account and your boyfriend wants his own account he will have to apply for that himself, which will also involve a credit check. You could then transfer the number to his account.
