Customer service can't give you a timescale for a mast repair as it is dealt with by the network team. All they can do is pass on information when problems occur which is why you should report anything not showing on the status page.  Some of the things that could affect the timescale for repair:

Sometimes permission is needed for access as some masts are on private property.

Perhaps on the initial visit the engineer finds that parts needed to be ordered.

Weather conditions can determine whether climbing a mast is safe.

Engineers may not be readily available if they are busy elsewhere.

O2 will ultimately try the get the mast repaired as soon as possible in everyone's interest.

All depends on where you live, some carriers have superior signal than others in different locations. You must go for the company with the best solution for your area.

I travel the country fairly regularly and O2 have given me the best service. Others I haven't had so much luck with. (Its not perfect but defiantly superior)

Everything is an obstacle for signal, buildings, trees, power lines, natural increments (+\-) if you can create a radio signal that isn't affected by these problems and many more you'll be a very rich person.
Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you’re wrong. So Ive been told wink
