Will o2 pay me out of contract?

Hello, i am currently with 3 mobile and my contract runs out in march/april time.
I have been with 3 for about 3-4 years now but i want to change to o2 and get an iphone.
Will o2 pay 3 the remainder of my current contract if i switch to o2?
I have heard of this being done a few times and i wondered if o2 would do this.

i pay £24 a month, 300 mix and match

I'd ride out your current contract, be patient then come over to o2 then, just imagine the phones that will available to you then!!
