Why does the time go forward by an hour

Why does the time on my phone (set to auto update) go forward by an hour? It seems to be something on the network and I have experienced this a number of times, as have other on O2. It does not happen to other networks.

I set my alarm for 7am today and it went off at that time on the phone however the ACTUAL time was 6am according to the TV and manual clocks in my house. I set another alarm for 8am. This went off at 7am.

The time has now corrected itself at 7:45 real time. Obviously their customer services aren't open - even tho O2 phones say it was after 8am.

I really wanted a sleep in this morning and O2 have screwed up my day - NOT IMPRESSED!

I think you'll find o2 dont in any way control the time on your fone.

Have u got it set at gmt +1 depoending if you reside in the uk.

Try a firmware update if you think your settings are correct.

My settings are correct (gmt + auto daylight savings adjustment)and all the updates have been installed. It is not my phone - it is O2. It has happened on my iphone (contract), Sony ericsson (PAYG), my friend's Nokia (contract), another friend's smartphone - all of us on O2 and at various times through the year.

This can't be my firmware or settings - it is definitely O2 as it does not happen to other networks. All the phones are set with time and date to auto-update to keep the time correct.

I have a Sony Ericsson and it's fine on mine.

Set to GMT, Daylight saving and Auto Time-zone.

You may want to check the settings in your phone. We are currently in BST (which is GMT+1)

I know what the time is - but O2 does not appear to stick with current time!!!! Their time alters - I don't know whether it is backup or what - but if I was the only one experiencing it I would say it was my phone settings, however it is not only MY phone but several friends have also experienced this "anomaly".

Nokia, google-phone, iPhone, Sony Ericsson, etc. It is not the settings on the phone - it is O2 automatic update of time settings.

Phone settings are set to auto - GMT plus automatic adjustment for daylight savings = BST. BST is GMT + 1 but automatic adjustment for daylight savings = settings on GMT and system alters time to GMT + 1.

Question: Why did alarm go off at 7am when set for 8am. 8:30 alarm went off at 7:30am. However 8:50 alarm went off at 8:50am (real time).

WHY?

Dont have that problem with any of my phones and i was up early this morning, and O2 dont change the time on your phone, it will be your settings that are incorrect, otherwise there would be 18,999,999 other people also complaining grin

I've never met anyone or read of anyone with a problem like this.

It surely has to be the set up of the phone, or you have a faulty phone.
