WHAT A PALAVER (To Access Community This AM)

It seeems a few of us couldnt get onto community this morning as O2VM wanted to link my accounts. 

Bit stupid as I don't have any VM products. 

Normally I log on via PC. 

Click on sign in link to Community and voila I'm in. 

Not this morning. 

I was presented with a VM/O2 page requiring me to set up email address and password for VM

Once I'd done that, they wanted phone number to send 2FA. 

Gave them phone number and code never arrived. 

Then 20 mins later code arrived on phone but when I put it in, I was told time had run out. 

Then they locked me out. 

Rinse and repeat for nearly an hour. 

Then i was asked to set up a passkey. 

I did that and again was told they would email me for verification.

Guess what, the email didn't arrive.

Then I realised I HAD to set up a VM account to link both together.

I used same email address and password I had for O2 and suddenly after 95 minutes of faffing about I clicked sign in (for Community) and I'm in. 

I know this has happened to @pgn and @Bambino 

@Dave-O2 can you check this out please?

If I have to face this every morning, I'll never get on forum as I can't for the life of me remember what I did to conquer the VM instructions to get on here. 

PS, also had same issue with phone. 

Major problem was, VM failing to send texts in a timely manner and the same for emails. Then having the nerve to tell me they had expired. If I don't have any VM products, why be subjected to this? 

RANT OVER!!

Bit late to the party, but just had the run around with all of that today.

Luckily there must have been a slow down in SMS requests as mine came through pretty quickly.

Frustratingly I thought we went through all this (linking of VM and o2 accounts) several months back.

Agree with the consensus that there should have been a heads up about changes being made!

@Cleoriff Pretty sure something is in the pipeline. Dave-o2 has been unusually quiet and the rewards stay unprocessed which is very unusual. 
Having to do things in the background? 

 

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Dave probably got a scorching last weekend in Wales with his family 🥵 - holidays used to delay the rewards quite badly in pre-Dave years. But hey, Kei stepped in briefly, so... Twofer 🤨

I don't know what's happening. I have been onto @Dave-O2 re @Bambino 

Unfortunately, he's been unable to get on here since the change as they keep sending the codes to a phone he no longer uses. Worse for him as he lives in the US. @Bambino has tried everything to no avail.

Anyway Dave is on the case so I'm hoping things can be sorted re that issue.

Lost track of the date re Rewards if honest.

Re @Bambino - anyone think of sending him a new O2 PAYG SIM card, already activated, in the post? He could pop that into his phone, hopefully get 5G capability and see if O2 have released 4G Calling for PAYG yet and slip @Dave-O2 the number attached to that SIM....

 

Yeah ok, be easier to send the code to a local phone here and paste it into a WhatsApp session with @Bambino I guess - just have to co-ordinate across a 5-hour time difference.

Contacted my son = No reply ........ he says 'You're not very good with tech, are you Mum'?

 

Have disturbed my phone anyway ... = ... why 2 switches on left side of phone for volume needed'?

Have High Vibration ... but ... No Sound of Phone ringing ....... It'll be something I've done or not done ... Grrr !

@RunrigForever The two switches on the side of your android phone for volume?

One is to turn volume up, the other is to turn it down. 😉
