Telefonica Spanish SIM in UK phone

Anonymous
Not applicable

I'm about to go to Spain for 3 months and would like to use my UK iPhone there, but use a Spanish SIM.

As O2 is part of Telefonica does anyone know if my UK phone will work with a Spanish SIM or do I need to get it unlocked?

Some o2 Contract Phones are unlocked automatically. PAYG Are Def locked.

I would try another network sim in the phone, if it comes up with the network name instead of o2, then the phone is unlocked,

If it comes up with network sp locked, or network locked, etc.  Then you phone is locked to o2 uk

Need Help, Just ask. We are one big Family here in the o2 Forum.
Use iPhone XS Max dual sim, SE, Honor 10, IPad Pro 11, Apple Watch 4 LTE, 100+ Mpbs Barrier and a Record Player.
