Certainly they have got a disproportionate number of PAYG compared with other networks.

I also suspect they have many low end customers too

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

I would imagine O2 will be making announcements as to the future of PAYG before the 3G switch off....

I still believe that as giffgaff (sic) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of O2, moving folks "en bloc" to giffgaff might be their answer. But as new customers can still sign up for O2 PAYG, it still seems like whatever they decide to do is some time away. 👍
