This might be an option for o2 to provide better coverage for Voice and SMS (it wont work for Video) in some areas of the UK that have poor to non-existent coverage

Although SpaceX and T-Mobile in the US, haven't even tested the solution and sounds like its in the POC stage....

And Starlink have capacity issues, at the moment, and bandwidth and latency could be an issue.

From a coverage perspective, for Starlink Broadband at least, the UK is pretty much covered except for Shetland at this time: https://www.starlink.com/map

As the satellites orbit much closer to Earth than those in geostationary orbits, latency may not be quite so much of an issue, so long as Starlink has the bandwidth between satellites and to terrestrial cohlo sites (if I have the terminology right!).

More here: https://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.php/2022/03/starlink-add-uk-coverage-map-for-ultrafast-satellite-b...

I think the US already uses satellite coverage for radio across vast chunks of the country, if I remember from my travels there - crossing by car from west coast California to Nevada traverses some very hot and barren terrain...
