It's not officially on O2 but I've said before how every now and then I'm getting 4G+ on O2 on the Z5.
Since putting my sim back in tonight it's been solid 4G+ even when in poor signal.

4G+ launched a little while ago and is growing at a rapid rate. It's proper name is Carrier Aggregation or CA for short essentially 4.5G in simple terms. It uses two different frequencies being O2's L800 and L1800MHz or LTE Band 20 and band 3. We have been refarming some of our 2G 1800MHz into 4G 1800MHz to provide additional capacity in high traffic demand and population areas as such in large towns and cities. As long as your phone supports it and your in range (not forgetting 1800MHz has less of a coverage footprint than 800MHz does) then your phone will connect to 4G+ but I believe the only phone at the moment to give a clear indication of this are the Sony's Z3 upwards I think but Z5'still are a definite. All the latest flagship handsets support it like the iPhone 6S Samsung S6 upwards and Sony phones. The other benefit is that for the first time ever iPhone 5 users can use 4G on our network as the iPhone 5 does support LTE band 3 (1800MHz) but doesn't support a large handful of other LTE bands such as band 20 (800MHz) so never originally worked on many networks including O2. Hope this helps guys! Any questions just let me know!

I personally have never seen it ...even when in your neck of the woods...so maybe you are one of the special ones @viridis? wink

Edited to ask if you saw it when using other phones whilst waiting for the Z5?

Nope, only ever seen it on the Sony. Speedtests show it as double speed so I know it's not just an incorrect icon...

Must be testing it out in your area. Good to see.
