@markle
I think you've missed the point. You get minimum 500 MB for free, some people will get 1GB free. That's more than enough to use Google Maps or a Sat Nav app.
I think you missed the point I dont just use sat nav once a month and what about
other applications I use internet radio, streaming tv, remote desktop. I rely
on this phone for a connection back to base when im often away working or to
keep me entertained
If you go over, you pay £5 for an extra 500Mb for the month. That's not quite "£5 every time", and a lot better than Three, who give everyone 500MB for free, and charge 10p / MB over, equivalent of £100 / GB!
See above how long do you realistically think 500mb lasts? I know cause I looked
at my usage the extra £5 will double my contract a month
Think of it this way... with the free allowances included, if you use 1.5GB, Three will charge you £100, O2 will charge you £10. Seems fair to me.
My point about 3 was they got a smaller customer base if they wanted to increase
it rapidly unlimited data for there new iphone package would be a quick way to
win market share I wasn't in any way saying there current policy is better.
@ancientferguson
You posts were probably deleted for breaking the forum rules....... that is my mantra... so pack it in!
nothing offensive in my post most likely my user name they took exception too
If you had your account deleted then I suggest you were bang out of order.
I doubt it really was "bang out of order" just offensive to o2
The "thanks for ruining it for everyone" makes you sound like a male chicken!
Dont really think it does? this has a negative impact for the whole smartphone
market and can only serve to stunt growth, have a negative impact for app
developers, and generally spoil the experience for consumers as a whole.
Do you even own an iphone? or still rockin the nokia 3310

Why did my completely inoffensive and ontopic post about what one will actually be able to do within the 500 MB limit imposed by o2 get deleted? Was it because I referred to someone else who said loading up the o2 home page consumed 700-odd KB (equalling 22 visits a day over the month to reach one's limit). Would a mod care to enlighten me? Is the 700 KB figure incorrect? My maths certainly is not not.
Many thanks.

Without seeing it, I would imagine you made general derogatory comments about O2. It is against the rules... apparently.
I always fell foul of this. Didn't they send you a PM telling you why the posts were deleted?
