SCAM CALL: 40% off if you hand OTP (One Time Passcode)

I received a SCAM call from “o2 headquarters” with an amazing offer of 40% off. Number 020 8610 9057.

He sent through the One Time Passcode to my phone and then asked me to handover. Bear in mind he had confirmed no other details of mine. I work in Cyber Security and can usually identify a phishing scam when I see one so explained I will not hand over due to the clear security message prior about “never share this code including with o2 staff.”

I then told him I thought it was clear fraud I won’t share it, he told me he would bump my monthly payments up to £100 a month to which I laughed as he has no authoritative way of accessing my account (unless I gave the code) and clearly has no understanding of contractual agreements haha!

O2 will never call or text requesting your OTP.

BE WARY AND NEVER HAND OUT YOUR OTP CODE!

I had exactly the same, offering a 30% discount. Foolishly gave him my OTP, but saw sense when he asked my security question. Telephone number was 02036612594. Tried to ring it back, but unsurprisingly a dummy.

Is there any way of reporting these guys?

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
