An 11.7% rise in my monthly contract charge - cheers, O2 -I'll be getting my PAC as soon as my 24 months are over 😞
Good job I'm only paying £11 / month
"We wanted to let you know we’re increasing the price of your tariff. We know a price rise is never welcome, but it’s essential to allow us to continue to invest in our technology.
The increase means the price of your tariff will rise in line with the 7.8% Retail Price Index (RPI) rate of inflation, announced in February, combined with our annual 3.9% rise. This is set out in your terms. You’ll find more information on the RPI changes on our website."
And before anyone mentions terms and conditions - yes I know

They are all at it this year, and some are worse than others....
Sky between 5% and 10% and roaming charges from May
Vodafone 9.3% Roaming Charges £2 per day
EE 9.3% - Roaming Charges £2 per day
Three 7.8% - Roaming Charges £2 per day
I would love to know what this price hike actually pays for...

Haha, me too - but remember, according to the Bank Of England, we're not to ask for a pay rise. It seems that we must dutifully keep our noses out of the trough

I'm making the most of Volt doubling my data and then a 1 year contract so can keep shopping around as the price on new contracts ends up below the increasing rates. For now anyway

Because it's a discussion topic.

I too was surprised by the amount. I didn't expect 11%. It seems a bit high and not sure what exactly is meant to achieve. Inflation is not static and why combine CPI and Inflation? Like why would you account for inflation in this, as CPI already takes the market into account?
Based on this formula, why not add the inflation (7.8%), RPI (3.6%), CPI (3.9%), BoE Interest deficit (1.5%) etc... we can add up to probably 60%. It seems misleading to add inflation to CPI and then splash them to end-users. Also... why stop there? Telefonica had a loss of 5% in shares in the last year. Why not add that as well?
I have VOLT so it's OK for now - but the entire industry seems a bit reckless. Also, O2 seems a bit over the market average. Quite a lead on increase. True, no Roaming but it's not a good enough argument. Also, they don't charge for you to go into the store, so might as well add another 2% there.
