Hi,

Wondered if anybody else had experience roaming in Mexico? I’ve been here two weeks and only ever seem to be on the Movistar network. This is fine, but they have very limited coverage only in major cities and towns. It means that smaller towns, like Todos Santos, they have no coverage. Telcel provide the best coverage and an old O2 excel suggests they’re a roaming partner, but my phone would never connect to them even when selecting manually.

Can anyone shed some light? Are Telcel no longer a roaming provider? Not having access to Telcel makes O2 useless for roaming in much of Mexico

I'm not sure if there are any up to date lists on Roaming Partners as things change frequently

One of our members @madasaf1sh may know.

I've just tagged them

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

@brandscill

They do indeed have an upto date list issued in August 2025, Sadly I cant share it..  But TelCel is on the list..

However connection to it may be restricted to Business customers, or the local provider themselves..

This is not customer services and we dont have access to your account
I do not work for o2 or any VMo2 /Telefonica/Liberty Global Company
