Ring O2 for iPhone 4. It works! - Page 5

Okay so after much reading and confusion about how exactly to get an iPhone 4, I assumed that I would just have to sit back and wait for one. I tried ringing all my local O2 stores, ringing carphonewarehouse stores and order line, same with phones4u etc etc.

I thought Id ring O2 upgrades and see what they said. I knew it, "No your average monthly spend is only £42.08, and you need to pay at least £50" Odd I thought, as my contract is £45 a month so how could it be less, but nevertheless I didn't question it.

So I rang back. "No we dont do the early upgrade offer over the phone, has to be instore"

Ring again. "Need to be gold member"

Ring again. "Try instore mate"

...and again "Sure Mr Petch, we'll do that right away"

My only tip is to keep trying. I was planning on making up some story about "was told to ring this number, i was Guaranteed to get an upgrade, speak to your manager, going to cancel" etc etc but there was no need!

i just think it depends who you speak to, but i do feel for the people who aint got the phone. im just waiting to see if it does turn up. :womanindifferent:

Guys, I got mine on the first phone call to upgrades, on launch day, delivered on the Friday. I had 11 months left on my contract, and I am a silver customer.

I have been with O2 for over 8 years, but I was stunned when they said yes, so hope for you guys as well.

You are upgraded if you are either on tier 4 or 5. The tiers are mainly used by the retentions department, however if you fall in the tier you can be upgraded to an iPhone 4. You can upgrade if you are on an iPhone SIMO tariff. You can upgrade if you are a Gold customer on any SIMO tariff. I believe you can also upgrade if you are Gold+ on the priority list.

I'm only a lowly blue customer which presumably is the lowest of the low.

I'm a blue customer and was able to do the early upgrade offer over the phone! IT should be arriving tomorrow.

So so so so so glad i read this thread.

I've just upgraded over the phone, got straight through, he checked stock, 32GB iPhone in stock and upgrade done and dusted.

I'm well happy

Gotta wait 1-3 working days for delivery though 😞

Gold priority if anyone wants to know.

ME TOO!!!

After being given the run around at o2 for the last couple of weeks. Thought I'd give it a go after giving up last week. Straight through and ordered. Just received email confirming its been dispatched and I'll have it tomorrow!

If you haven't been able to order yet keep trying! Especially ASAP!

Don't know how you guys managed this but just rang up and they have none in stock and don't know when they will be getting any more in.

Fed up with this now. Been going to the O2 store on Oxford Street daily but nothing.

Don't give up Ian! I was like you last week, I'd read how someone got through, the. I'd sit on the phone for an hour getting told by 10 different people they were out of stock. But I called today & I made the woman say they had stock about 5 before I believed her.

I don't know if this makes any difference but I dialed 100, then upgrades!
