My contract is due to expire 22nd nov, I am going wi giff gaff how do I keep my current number? Is it rite once I get my puk code its valid for 30days so wud need to get it end oct?

I think you are talking about PAC code not PUK

You need a PAC from O2 then within 30 days use it here https://www.giffgaff.com/support/transfer
You will need to have an active giffgaff sim too before you can start the process with them.
