Potentially returning customer

Anonymous
Not applicable

I had a 2 yr contract till Sept this year. I left to go to giffgaff while i decided what to do. I now want a new phone. Just phoned o2 and apparently my 2 yr contract and the 3 x 2yr contracts before it mean nothing in terms of loyalty and I will just be given offers as if i was a brand new customer. Is this right? My husband was told that if he returned (left same time as me) that he would be treated as a returning customer 😞

Hi @Anonymous You will be treated the same as any new customer now. Loyalty counts for nothing really.

Having said that ...O2 have some brilliant offers for new customers showing in the shop...Check them out...

https://www.o2.co.uk/shop

Edited to add....Very often new customers get better deals than existing ones. wink

As I expected 😞 unfortunatley the third party companies have better deals than dealing directly with the networks themselves. Thanks.

Hi @Anonymous yes the third party deals can look enticing....though none of them offer the Refresh deal and will usually tie you in to a two year contract. This is a big seller for O2....and quite rightly in my opinion...

O2 removed "loyalty" a while back and instead they offer "a fair deal for all". Like it or not, this is O2's policy now.
You will be offered some form of incentives if you say you are leaving but that was back when you moved to giffgaff so the chance for you is lost now.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

@Anonymous the choice you make is a very personal one. If you are happy with using the same phone for two years, then going to a third party who will give you a better deal is the way to go. If, however, you like to upgrade frequently, and have the disposable income to buy out your phone plan, then you should think about a Refresh contract. Another alternative is to buy a phone sim free and take a pay monthly sim. Lots of different possibilities, and one only you can make. Difficult for anyone else to give you a definitive choice.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2
