I am a controller for my local Blood Runners service and when on duty use a lot of texts to keep in touch with our driver/riders, normally from 1900 to 0600. I know to send pictures I get charged but not fo using Emojies? Instead of typing out replies once a drop has been done I just send a 'thumbs up' emoji, not thinking this is classed as a 'picture'? In the last 2 months I have been charged over £40 for doing this, not knowing I am being billed every time.

You need to make this action clearer to your users as to be honest it's money I can't afford to lose, as blood runners is a free service to the NHS, I cannot claim it back.

@Redave46

You really need to read this guide.

Guide: Accidental MMS Sending and How to Avoid it

It gives a clear explanation on Emoji's etc.

@Redave46 Ask your driver/riders to download WhatsApp, if they don't have it already. If you have the app on your phone as well, you can send texts, emojis, whatever you like for free if you send them over WiFi.
