Pay as You Go Data Packages.

Anonymous

Good evening,

Has any member any inkling if 02 have anything in the pipeline regarding offering a 2gb data package on pay as you go.

I have a 1gb data package and seem to be creeping more and more to its limit before the month is out.

Im aware of the bolt on which ive used before for a £10 for another 1gb but it would be nice to have a 2gb data option.

Here's hoping.

I don't think you're alone with that, it was about the time smartphones became popular that these levels were brought in,

I would expect a tariff refresh in march if things go to the usual pattern but with 4g on the way we may have to wait until the auction ends etc.

But if o2 follow ee when 4g comes then we will see more data but as the article I posted on here earlier will the network be able to cope with the extra mobile data (look at skys admission on adsl issues)

Just think about the number of mobile data users v adsl / fttc users per company I would hazard a guess that o2 mobile data has more users than the largest isp in the country. work it out form the facts here http://media.ofcom.org.uk/facts/

Bt had 6.4 million connections yet o2 would have 8.5 million data users based on 22 million customers and 39% accessing the internet on handsets. If o2 had unlimited still think of the backhaul costs etc.

Just my take on it

iPhone 11 Pro 256gb on unlimited data
iPad Pro 12.9” 2020 256gb refresh o2 family discount
Apple Watch series 4
My first mobile was in 1995 a CM-R111 from sony on Cellnet.
