I am having problems with O2 signal on my iphone. I live in an area which usually gives a strong 5 bar signal, but it appears to have failed. I have had no signal for over 6 hours. Has anyone else had this experience?

Hi like many here I'm having problems with my signal, on fact it ain't just me. All me and my friends are on o2 and it has been fantastic until about 6 months agoL when I struggle to get a good signal countless dropped calls and the frustration of it all. This has only been compounded by the fact I now have an iPhone 4 with it's signal issues, but even my misses and mates we have the same problems a five min call when we are at home takes 6 separate phone calls!

We don't have 3G coverage out here in the sticks or even edge. But my iPhone depending where I sit I the house I get one bar on 3G then that will drop and then struggle to get signal again. I live in Ramsey Cambs can anyone shed any light? Oh by the way hello to you all.

If your in a poor reception area for 3G, switch it off and stick to 2G only, 3G use flexi cells, they expand when they have less users on and decrease in size the more users that are on them, so if your on the edge of a 3G cell then your going to lose signal more often and get dropped calls.
This is how 3G technology works 😞 4G fixes this, shame there is no voice on it yet... 2G uses fixed cells so you wont get that shrinkage you do on 3G.
Also note that terrain will have effects on your mobile signal, if your in a dip you wont get a good signal, again not much can be done, O2 like other mobile operators have to request planning permission for masts, if there is sufficient complaint from the local population then it doesnt go ahead, or if the council dont think there is a need for more masts in that area, then you dont get the mast.
