O2 from an Unbiased Customer Perspective - My Online Diary

I've decided to take a Refresh deal on a 4G phone and will treat everything as a normal O2 customer, ie, phone will be O2 locked & branded, I will not root or jailbreak, if anything goes wrong I will contact live chat in the first instance, repairs (if necessary) will be done through O2 etc....

I haven't decided which phone as yet, but it will probably be a mid range handset and I will document my experience from ordering, through to setting up & using, the quality of CS and my thoughts on 4G along with the whole "O2 user journey" throughout my contract period.

I will be completely unbiased and I have the option to compare all services to the other 2 networks I use on a regular basis (Three & EE) along with GG which my wife uses.....

I'm hoping it will be a pleasant and enlightening journey slight_smile

I wouldn't accuse anyone of that - All I'm saying is that PCC is now updating the latest firmware to the latest firmware wink

You mean you are Doubting Tomas has done the job properly LOL

Manufacturers next step?

Didn't we just know this would end badly.........

If it makes you feel any better (It wont)...my son used to work with a large company 'repairing' mobile phones. He said the phones arrived ...a load of them, all in a small basket with a note on about what was wrong...he spent every working day flashing phones...whatever was wrong with them Shocked

@Cleoriff I'm shocked that you would suggest, no, imply, that a majority of repairs are just flashed firmwares!
Shocked I tell you. 😁
@MI5 but...... Is the problem gone?

Thing is @viridis I have known my son a lot longer than I have been on this forum...LOL

I can tell you his training was meant to be for four weeks...it was 2 days.

The 'technicians' were instructed on the repair by the team leader......

My son said he became an expert on 'flashing' ....Smiley Very Happy

Sorry to @MI5 for straying off topic wink

Yet another poor show from the O2 repairers though. Is it any wonder we recommend going to the manufacturers?

I only used O2 as I promised I would act as a proper O2 customer in this experiment.
TBH I don't want this phone anymore so I'll have a moan to live chat tomorrow and see what they can do or else it's going on ebay and someone else can have the aggro....

My S4 went to o2 repairs in April. On its return a sheet was enclosed staying my device had been repaired but didn't say what the repair was.

Since its return I am having numerous software issues and battery issues.

Having sent a complaint in, I am now told by complaints that no fault was repaired but they did Flash the software.

Now I have a phone I can't rely on. I did not want to send it to o2 repairs but o2 insisted.

Phone is now being replaced tomorrow. Lost confidence in it. I will continue to advise others on here to go to the Manufacturer and avoid o2 repairs.
