Same as Virgin. Stop new sales then close down the service a few months later

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

I wonder @Enlli if that signifies the beginning of the end for O2 PAYG in general ?

@Oxonian I could see the Big Bundles going.

The rolling plans where people pay by Debit Card are very similar to other networks 30 day deals, so might stay in a modified form

We will know if they don't allow 4G calling as they start the 3G shutdown

We know @Enlli that O2 have 8 million PAYG "accounts". I wonder whether some sort of mass move to giffgaff might be in the offing ? As giffgaff are a wholly-owned part of the O2 group, they could presumably move everyone with their credit too ?

As O2 are still signing up new PAYG customers, presumably nothing is going to happen in the immediate future. 👍

If a move from O2 to giffgaff happend then judging by the move from Virgin to O2 then it will  get busy round here

It might get even busier still @Enlli if they simple decide to shut PAYG and invite 8 million customers to apply for the refund of their unused credit.

The O2 website says ".....we’ll be completely switching off 3G by the end of 2025...." :-

3G Network Switch Off | Checking Your Network

Hence, based on your thoughts above, the position should become clearer next Autumn. 👍

It's like it's never been discussed before 🙄
