Nokia N97.....o2 say NO?

Hi there peeps, i was looking forward to the new Nokia N97 coming out, and wondered why i hadnt seen anything on the website, phoned o2 up and at first they said they were not going to do the handset at all, then they said well maybe they would but dont know, then finally yesterday told me that no way would they be doing this handset :mansurprised: ? Anyone know why? unlike o2 not to get this in to be honest, they have always had the others when they came out.

....I got a leaflet through the post the other day saying that Virgin Media now offer the N97 Mini on their network....

Might be worth a look as I don't think o2 will ever release it on their network..!

I got a call to upgrade from spiritel and told them I had a N95 8gb and said I wanted to upgrade to an N97 but was no point as o2 dont do them. He said I could get a 97 mini by upgrading with them. Hope this helps.

Why are o2 slow at times with new phones? Are they concentrating too much on the iPhone?

I really want the N97 Mini and am being offered a good deal with Voda but I hav eno issues with my o2 coverage and am not fussed for leaving them - but I want a new phone lol

Is there any update on when or if o2 will get it in?

Yea I see that but saying 'soon' is like asking how long is a piece of string

Either o2 have a release date or they don't - what is their issue with getting it on board?

It's due around the 17th of May.

Ha ha was just coming on to say that as well!

Was on the phone to them about something else and asked again about it and Customer Services guy said its on their computer for 17 May

I hope it does appear then as I'm about to return the one I got from another provider and will lose a good deal :womanindifferent:

Well 17 May has come and gone... and no sign of the N97 Mini from o2...

Am I surprised... actually not really 😞

Probably more issues at Nokia, they are not exactly the best for mobile phones of late :robotsad: though I never had that many issues with my N95 (ok it turned itself off a couple of times :womanindifferent: ) but the new phones are just no where near as reliable as the "classic" phones of the late 90's and early 2000's.
