hi, I've purchased a new p&g o2 sim for my hubbys old 02 Galaxy s4. It has a phone number on the card so following the enclosed instructions I popped it in his phone and it still said no sim. I tried to top up and sign into my o2 to send an activation code but neither were successful or had any effect. 

Any ideas?

It should work as soon as you put it in.
Try another sim in the phone and if that works the sim is faulty.

Assuming it is inserted correctly, it sounds like a dead sim card.
Where did it come from?

We do need more info like what was the activate by date on the sim ( I am an o2 star trader and have be careful my sims are valid when I give them out for free)

I pointed out to Tesco some sim cards they had by their tills which ere past their activate before dates.

They would have been sold quite innocently had I not pointed it out.

I also received a sim directly from O2 recently that was dead and wouldn't activate at all, no matter what I tried.

Purchased at local b&m store, activate by May 2016, says big bundles on front and states p&g. Card has ssn, mobile and other numbers on back. Phones unlocked but prev used as o2 anyway.

Big Bundle sim? Also stuff purchased by B&M is usually cheap but the date states it should be valid...
