New 500meg limit

OK, I'm a bit worried about this. I use my iphone all the time when I'm out and about, whether its the maps app or emails or comparing prices while shopping. I have to admit I have no idea what I actually use in a full month with 3g as opposed to wi-fi, but I know that 500meg doesn't *sound* like much, given the size of some webpages these days.

I've just turned off my wi-fi and reset my usage counters so I can see what I use over the next week or two to try and gauge my monthly usage, and hence decide if I'm going to have to change my phone/provider.

I'm just curious how much other users use in a month of browsing and such, and what they use it for. Answers below please.

You missed a fifth option:

"Yes, I might go over, but it's only £5 I'll be charged, so I'm not going to cry if it means I get better quality service, because there are less people caning the network by streaming video"

Missed the other option as well, not planning on upgrading and will just keep my unlimited data contract!
