Quick Simplicity Question

If I downgrade my current £35 iPhone tariff to a £20 iPhone Simplicity tariff do I have to renew the Simplicity contract after twelve months?

Or is it like a regular contract that when expired so long as you don't upgrade/renew then the T&Cs remain the same?

Thanks.

Hmm, good question. One for O2 team guys and girls.

I prefer the idea of the 30 day rolling. There is too much uncertainty for me to commit for 12 months. Until we are happy that there are no surprises on the horizon, I will happily pay the extra fiver.

The wife's Simplicity Smartphone Monthly SIM arrives tomorrow. Great value even with the extra fiver. I have told her to choose whatever phone she wants, including waiting for the new iPhone.

All in all an expensive solution upfront, but it works out pretty much the same over the two years and gives maximum peace of mind.

I would say no you wouldnt have to renew for another twelve months. This is taken from the general airtime contract terms and conditions as they currently stand.

3.2 At the end of any Minimum Period or following commencement of the Agreement if you have selected a SIM Only tariff, this Agreement will continue
until it is terminated in accordance with paragraph 8 below.

I read this to mean once the twelve months are up it just roll son until you decide to change / cancel the contract.

Paulo78, Thanks. Thats what i'm assuming but you know what they say about assumption?

I agree with you AF that you will pay the same for the handset either way so if i'm right then I can take a simplicity tariff before they end the unlimited data, pay £15 less per month and buy the handset outright plus retain the unlimited even after the 12 simplicity ends plus it is only 12 months as opposed to 18 min for the upgrade.

We may have this sorted barring definate confirmation if thats possible regarding what happens at the end of the term.

Just been into an O2 store under the impression that they had micro sim adapters but they don't.

The guy in store said they will be available when iPhone 4 is out as thats what it's for???

iPhone 4 is not the only device that uses a micro sim.

So I guess i'll go for simplicity on micro sim ready for iPhone 4 and be without my phone for a while.

No you don't, it will just turn into a rolling 30 day contract until you request otherwise.
Or is it like a regular contract that when expired so long as you don't upgrade/renew then the T&Cs remain the same?

T&C's will stay the same until you request to sign up for different ones, so theoretically you can carry on for another 2 years at the same T&C's you're on now.
