I had an issue recently after O2 upgraded my tariff where the “Network Provider Voicemail” notification appeared on my phone and couldn’t be cleared. After 6 support calls with both Apple and O2 I eventually found a solution myself so posting it here in case others find it useful.
In summary, you need to dial 901 and switch your notification method to SMS then switch it back again.
Step by step:
Dial 901
Press *
Press 5
Press 1
Hang up
Dial 901 again
Press *
Press 5
Press 3
Hang up
This worked for me, your mileage may vary ✌️

Just to add this doesn't always work, as my iPhone has a stuck notification, and when calling 901 and then option 5 option 1 errors and says it doesnt exist..
I even tried turing off VM via the 1760/1750 method and nowt works..

Thank you so so much. This solution has made my entire month! This has solved the phantom voicemail notification issue I’ve had for over 7 months. I could cry happy tears!
I’m extremely grateful that I just found this, tried it and it worked. Neither Apple nor O2 have been able to help. I had to create an account just to say thank you 🙏🏾
