I think it's more a case of Ofcom trying to influence EU regulators ahead of their own ruling, as ultimately this will be another decision made in Brussels.

I'm not suggesting it's a done deal, but I can't see much prospect of a U-turn at this late stage.

And as I stated, it was my opinion only based on the fact that Ofcom are not keen on the merger...for whatever reason. BT and EE went through with no issues...(and yes I know 'that was different')
