I would also add that you say you own your own home and don't do credit (which is admirable) however a negative mark on your credit file could see you refused contract services from:
Gas suppliers
Electricity suppliers
Mobile phone contracts
Landline contracts
Broadband contracts
Sky / Virgin contracts
Car insurance
We don't provide the guidance for any other reason than to help. You would be surprised how a negative credit mark on your file could affect even the simplest things in life. We have seen it time and again.

Thank you for clarifying that most of the moderators have an association with O2 besides being a customer, I think it should be made clear by the user names......
i appreciate that you have advised me of what can happen regarding credit scores, but hey guys if you look back over your comments its in EVERY post! now that is intimidation and scare mongering! Quoting legal cases, i don't care what you say! it reads bad for O2
None of you have come out in support in anyway shape or form, nor said that customer services needs to be improved with more transparency, Information Information is the word, and not from a poor status web site that tells you its not working!
As for spares if O2 don't stock spares for their own equipment they need to take a long hard look at themselves.
This whole episode has left a bad taste in the mouth, i have been with O2 for 12-15 years i one form or another. Very disappointing

Hi @Anonymous I have checked back on this complete thread and can confirm that every response was posted by customers like yourself. Not one of us works for O2. Any O2 employee who posts on this forum is required to state that in their signature
I certainly agree that in many instances customer services needs a major overhaul. There are many complaints on here that confirm that.
I certainly hope your issue gets resolved for you. Best of luck...

Well that's a co incidence i have checked the service status for my area and its allegedly working! i checked late afternoon yesterday and it wasn't working.
Whilst the bar indicator is NO guarantee of field strength i will have to wait and see how today plays out today.
If it is working as before then yes i am very happy but the whole experience has left me bitterly disappointed with O2. As for walking away from O2 at this point probably not providing the Mast keeps working? But i will be leaving in a heartbeat come renewal time, i shall take this time to do more research on other providers and how they deal with problems and their customer feedback.

That's exactly what it is. Coincidence. They fixed your local mast. It just took some time to do it.
No one who has posted in this thread works for O2. They were only trying to help, and trying to advise you on doing something that would only have brought you grief had you just walked away from your contract. Once your contract has come to an end, you will be free to go where you like. My final advice to you would be, should you go down that route, get Pay & Go sims from the other networks to see if their signal is any better than what you get now from O2. It's really the only criteria that should drive your decision.
