I have been the victim of identity theft. The thief took out some O2 contracts and obviously never paid any bills. The other phone companies they did this with were brilliant, one phone call and it was sorted. Not O2.
The call centre does not seem to have the ability to recognise this type of fraud, and the upshot is that O2 put a black mark on my credit score that is badly affecting my life, as well as selling the debt to a debt collection agency.
The debt collection agency were brilliant, cancelling the debt.
O2 have yet to talk to me once about their investigations or actions here. I have tried the 'Resolver' service they recommend, with no reply.
Have any other members of this community experienced this? If so, what have you done about it? What are the next steps? How do I get O2 to remove the black mark on my credit score? I'm really struggling here.
Thanks for reading, it's more than O2 ever did.
