I was hoping there was a way to request a fixed IP address. I tried asking customer service but struggled to explain the concept of what a fixed IP address is. Is it possible? I have a VPN server and would like to restrict access to specific IP addresses (unless of course we're roaming).

You cant, o2 nor any UK network offer this service, and it would never work due to CGNAT that is deployed.
The only MVNO that used to offer this is AAISP..
You need to look at rDNS or a VPN service

Thanks @madasaf1sh , figured this was probably the case. It was only an extra layer of security for my VPN server, so a nice to have more than anything. And thanks for saving me a call to 202!

no worries @NeilC21 and think you would have confused the agents on the phone, as they will never have heard of it..
Why not host your VPN Server in Azure / AWS or Linode and then you can give it a static IP address ?

I am looking at it, I'm not sure if I want to go to those lengths as it is just a nice to have but it is a really good suggestion. The downside of having to worry about Cyber Sec as part of my job, I end up constantly looking at how I can improve everything else! 😀😶
