Samsung are now going through details of their smart wearables, including the new Gear 2 and Fit smartwatches. I don't yet have my Omate Truesmart smartwatch, but I completely see the merit for these smart wearables - perhaps these new iterations would be a great companion to the new S5 for you. Interested?

Galaxy Gear 2

- 4GB Internal Storage - Great for use with music for a phone-free workout in the gym or out and about
- More customisation options including changing wallaper and more
- IR LED - TV Control capability
- Sync with 17 different Galaxy Devices
- Battery life tripled to 3 days worth usage (1 day with the Gear 1)
- Water & Dust proof IP67 rating

Galaxy Fit

- Curved AMOLED Display
- Swap-out the strap - Black, grey, orange & designer choices.
- Straps are hypo-alergenic
- Instant notifications
- Interact with Galaxy device - reject call, control alarm, quick-message reply
- Compatible with 20 Galaxy devices

Both devices have a built-in heart-rate sensor. Fitness manager will detect your activity and notify you to speed up or slow down with your training.

Fitness & health data tracked & analysed by S Health app on the S5.

Confirmed. S5 is the world first smartphone equiped with a built-in heart-rate sensor. This sensor is right beside the camera flash of the S5 - hold your finger on the sensor and it will detect your heart rate.

I can see the Gearfit doing well depending on the price. It would have to compete with the FitBit.

I'm looking forward to viewing the un-boxing and hands on reviews from the guys and gals off the street via Youtube.

Coming to O2, confirmed.

If you're interested, there's a link on the announcement thread here where you can keep up to date > http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Welcome-News/Samsung-Galaxy-S5-Coming-to-O2/td-p/631870

I'm already considering O2 Recycle for my Note 3 😉 If anyone else is in a similar boat, you can find out how much your device is worth here > http://www.o2recycle.co.uk/

Water resistant not water proof.

Care to share those pool Photo's.

Back on topic.

Yes aware of that, meaning I might give this a miss because I'd rather a waterproof one. Mind, the amount of times I use it underwater is rare in all fairness.

I'm not a fan of the camera on my Sony, so if their updated models continue to have poor cameras then I think that will swing me over to the Samsung camp completely.

I'll delete this photo once you've seen it if you give me a nod when you have, I don't have any that aren't personal.

EDIT - Deleted.

Here is a direct comparison.

Some technological differences, IP67 water resistance although the screen isn't the large resolution everyone was hoping for. Although it does do 4K filming.

I was a little bemused at the specification at first. Again it does pack a lot of technology. The 8GB preinstall is classic Samsung. How about Google Play Edition of this and you're nearly got a perfect Android phone.

So in summary, improved screen with resistive enhancements, improved camera & functions. The thing that surprised me was the CPU. OK it's the revised Snapdragon chip set and higher clocked Krait 400.

A lot of people were looking for 64-bit SOC although I think not everybody needs to embrace this until memory loads over 3GB is the norm.

If I was upgrading my contract this would be on the wishlist. I still have a bit of time to go with my current one though,  So it might not be the dynamic shift everyone anticipated although it is a pretty good piece of kit on first impressions.
