Feedback: giffgaff achieve Which? Award 2014

I see giffgaff got the Which? Best Telecoms Provider award for 2014.  Is it too much to hope O2 will take note and try to learn a few lessons?

giffgaff certainly appear to have a more flexible attitude to Pay & Go tarfiffs - I have just received a free SIM from them and have initially topped up with a £10 goody bag which I am using in my standby mobile  - a Galaxy S2 ( the one that O2 tried to tell me was worthless because they claim the screen is damaged (no one I have shown it to has been able to detect any fault.)

If I should have posted this  in the Off Topic section - please forgive.

You need to wade through the mediocre answers as these are generally posted by people in an attempt to up their post count to earn payback points.
The mods do a reasonable enough job of weeding these out but the volume of posts mean that some are missed.
It's something that blights most boards I go on unfortunately 😞

Not all the time 😞

Some posters and posts are clearly as you state.

Some others are cleverly worded to belittle or subtly written to try to get a reaction. Personally I just inner smile at such activities, and think it's a short time we spend on this planet ,and if one wants to spend some of it thus then steam ahead. Sad really. 😞

This is where again as you state where Moderators and Site Management come into play by keeping these forums clear of posts and posters with perhaps such hidden agendas.

Seriously though, a lot of people do seem to post just to up their post count on the GG boards so you have to filter to get the information. I  rarely visit them these days.

I have not experienced problems myself but my OH had to escalate right up to senior management to get a resolution to her problem and my Sister also had major problems for which Agent retraining was recommended. That was some time ago now though.

Hi @aldaweb No I most certainly was not referring to anyone in particular. I was merely pointing out in my usual clumsy way that there is a noticeably different ambience on the gg site. I do not yet feel at home there.
BTW I did not recognise any familiar names there in any event.

I don't think anything you say is carried out in a "clumsy" way. Your the kind of guy I'd like to have a coffee with and a long afternoon chat. slight_smile

I too at times have found the gg forum perhaps a little clinical. That said their are people there who are genuinely there to help and learn.

Some people choose other forum names sometimes as the other forum will not allow what they usually use as it's been taken already for example.

Thank you for your kind words @Anonymous  I look forward to that coffee and a chat!!   I am sure I will get used to gg as the weeks go by and I know there are good people there too.
