Charged for UK texts

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have recently been charged for UK texts fhat should have been included in my monthly allowance, O2 inform me that it is due to the international prefix 0044 or +44 being included in the number. As my stored numbers include the international prefix it is automatically included when dialing from memory. Anyone else had a similar problem.

I have been in touch with CS twice and on both occasions I was given the same advice, that is, dont use the international prefix when making a text from the UK.  I have also been given a refund.

Good job you got a refund but the reasons you have been given are complete rubbish.
There has to be another reason for it....?

I worry that advisers can fob you off with ridiculous reasons for the charges. At least you got them refunded. You haven't just changed contract or tariff? Or your friends that you were charged for?
