COMPANY CLAIMING TO BE FROM O2 08009524852

Anonymous
Not applicable

Just had a call claiming to be from o2 from this number  08009524852. 1st off he got the name incorrect and thats when he was asked are you from o2 or representing o2, he stated that he was from o2. Next he tried to sell me a tablet and upgrade my phone. True hard sell and kept on and on about selling and upgrade. O2 need to know that there are companys out there claiming to be fron o2 but are clearly not. Has o2 sold my information on to a 3rd party as he knew some data that only o2 should know but he got the important one (name) wrong if they have they are out of order if they have not this needs investigating ASAP and something done about this.

I have seen it before and yes it has been said it's linked to O2 in the past. However this link shows it's Virgin Media and also linked to vodaphone

Either way it is a cold caller (maybe a so called 'Trusted Partner') hoping to sell you something....and should be ignored at all costs.

And used by Virgin Media also. Either way it's a cold caller and should be avoided. You can opt out of these types of marketing calls via My O2 http://www.o2.co.uk/myo2 (Go to More and my choices)

It was presumed to be Virgin but I didn't see it confirmed anywhere, but O2 have said it's them.

Not sure how up to date the info is nowadays @perksie but we had this a few months back and apart from O2 it was shown to be a trusted partner also of Virgin Media and Vodaphone....Either way....as the OP said it was a very pushy caller who had half the information incorrect... so not someone I would trust if honest..:smileysad:

I simply treat all incoming unsolicited calls from numbers you don't know as hostile until proven otherwise.
