Last week I was contacted via a call to my mobile phone supposedly from my bank's anti fraud department, today I was contacted by a private number stating from o2 fraud (Both attempts were using the same scam) - this time they were attempting to log in to my o2 account. Whilst they were on the phone I was texted a one time pass code from o2 and the fraudster requested I tell him the pass code so that he could stop a fraudulent transaction in my account.
The fraudster already had the following:
My name
My Mobile No
Last 4 digits of my credit card
I know this scam has been happening for a very long time but I just wanted to say how very convincing and determined the fraudster was, I presume that many people are still falling for this scam with potentially devastating consequences, otherwise the fraudsters wouldn't still be on it.
Could I ask everyone with social media accounts to let friends and family know never to give one time pass codes out to anyone no matter how convincing they are.
