Now this may be old news to some very tech savvy people...but it was news to me (hence the posting) wink

Google has released a tool that lets Android apps run on any machine that can run its Chrome browser.

The tool is called Arc Welder and it acts as a wrapper around Android apps so they can run on Windows, OSX and Linux machines

Another good little download is this http://www.andyroid.net/ 

 

This sets up a virtual android tablet device on your windows pc which you then can use just as a normal android tablet, visit play store, download apps etc.

Thanks @Anonymous Is that compatible with all Windows PC's? I have Windows 7 on my laptop. Husband has Windows 8...

It was only published yesterday though.(in the BBC link) which was why I was unsure whether it was new or old news.... Confused (Probably the tech mags published it months ago?)
