It is always good to get a "guide" that cystallizes the important points - so thanks @Anonymous for your work on this.
May I please ask for a little clarification on 2 points?
(1) You say "63% Refresh customers save 50% or more" - If I understand your guide correctly, O2 Refresh requires the Device Plan to be "fully paid up", and if a new Airtime Plan is taken it cannot be a "downgrade" - so how are savings of 50% to be made?
(2) You say "Only Refresh customers eligible." - but you don't say eligble for what.

You can save about 50% by paying off the phone and then only having to pay the airtime part of the deal.
If you choose a new phone on Refresh you have just shortened the original contract and will start with a new one.

Thank you @perksie "Paying off" the debt owed in respect of the phone earlier than was originally intended surely does not "save" the customer anything? In fact it represents a higher outlay over a shorter period of time and unless O2 awards a discount for early settlement there is no saving whatever. The only "advantage" of O2 Refresh seems to be that customers willing to settle the device plan early may then buy a newer model sooner than perhaps they would otherwise have been able to.
If I am missing something here perhaps someone good with figures would set out expenditure figures over a 2 year period to demonstrate that early settlement of a Refresh device contract can produce savings of 50% or more.
