I have just moved from three, had my old number ported over and I am only getting a 3G signal. My friend next to me is on O2 and is geting 4G???

You need to call customer service again and make sure you have the correct data bolt on and that 4G is activated on your account. Sometimes they forget to activate it or it could just be incompetence on their part.
