I've just had a call from "O2" telling me I am a fantastic customer and will now get 40% discount off my bill for the duration of the contract!  WOW!  because O2 are loosing customers due to hard times caused by Covid-19 etc etc I have been identified as a loyal customer who always pays their bills on time so I qualify!  REALLY!??  That was the giveaway because I can't always pay on time, I do pay but not always on time though.  WHAT A SCAM!

@KarenM69

There are so many scams going around currently.

Never agree to anything from a cold call and block the numbers they come from.

If you want to upgrade or change anything, always call O2 yourself.

This is a total scam and is by one of o2's " (un) trusted partners, trying to snare people into a new contract.

If you have the number then report to Action Fraud, and also send the number to 7726

Its about time o2 cut these companies off!!!
- Xperia 1V - o2 and Spusu
- Pixel 8 Pro - o2 and Vodafone UK

A genuine text in O2 folder - *FRAUD ALERT - MUST READ* Has someone called you and asked for a code? Hang up. They DO NOT work for O2 and are trying to commit fraud on your O2 account. Never give a one-time code to anyone who called you. Call us on 202 if you need help. If you requested a code yourself, we'll be texting it to you shortly.

This morning this number called me
*03302204417. Due to Covid-19 and not wanting to lose customers O2 are offering 40% discount on all bills. Not being greedy person nor wanting things free I hung up after they sent an O2 text with a code, requesting I tell them the code.

I called O2.
O2 said if you I had given them the code they would have been able to place orders on my account. And to forward the text to 7726 for investigation

You also need to change your O2 password as receiving the code means the scammers have access to your account.

Thank you. There was also a new number attached to my account. I changed my number and deleted that contact number.

I’ve had this telephone call too. Quite persistent when I hung up. Nothing in the web site. When something seams too good to be true it probably is.

That info can only come from the O2 data base but the problem is finding which of the many 'trusted partners' have released or sold these details on
