ok look you guys must be crazy.... the o2 website say that 750 meg will be used with just 1.5 hours on the BBC iplayer. so basically with these new rules you will be able to watch 3/4 of ONE EPISODE of top gear on the iplayer & ALL YOUR DATA FOR THE MONTH will be gone.

I'm worried about how much data I might actually use. I have no idea what I've consumed so far in any given month, but I can't imagine even trying to use something like iPlayer on the 3g network. Around here there just isn't enough bandwidth/signal strength to support proper streaming, so that sort of thing is something I'd only ever try to do on wi-fi.

27gig in a month? Let's think about that for a minute. Where I live we have our broadband with TalkTalk. We have a total traffic limit of 40gig/month. I admit we regularly go way beyond that between us all, but the thought of 27gig through my iphone??? The only way I can see you doing that is by using internet tethering and running BitTorrent or something continuously on your computer. How else could anyone use that much data on their phone?

And just out of curiosity, where on the website do I find out my data usage? I've looked at my bill and it only gives me detail of minutes and texts, not data, so where are you looking?

750 meg for 1.5 hours of iplayer? not convinced of that. If I wanted to download the episode on my pc then it would only be 600 ish so it would not be anywhere near that to stream to an iphone. At 750 meg per 1.5 hours that would work out to 8.3 meg per min. I very much doubt that my phone can get anywhere near that!

I think we need to ignore o2suck. He seems to glean some kind of almost childlike pleasure from publishing his monthly usage figures on his iPhone.

It is bound to wind a few people up, as he is clearly one of the people who uses his iPhone excessively, to the detriment of others, but who cares?

He clearly either:

1) Has no social life and is quite lonely and has nothing better to do with his time;

2) He is cheapskate who is tethering his iPhone to download (no doubt) illegal torrents, because he cannot afford broadband access.

Let him do what he needs to do - it's all rather inconsequential in my view.

its because of people like you that we have all had to have our unlimited removed

well done for abusing the service and ruining it for everyone else your such a clever person

you used nearly 30gb of data so obvously you was downloading , streaming , you name it to your hearts content

some internet service providers that charge £20 a month only have fup off 40gb so do you think using 30gb on a free bolt on is really fair useage?? cmon get real no other network provider is going to let you use 30gb , orange wont , tmobile wont , vodafone wont and three wont so your not left with many options are you

i really cant believe you actually think its ok to use 30gb a month when the fup used to be 200mb

its a mobile phone package not a home broadband service
