Hello all.

Im new & just signed up becasue of my outrage about the new removal of unlimited
data on 02. my last bill showed 27 Gig of data in less than 30 days so how is the
new 500meg plan going to help me? i could use all that in 30mins & thats supposed to last me a month. JOKE. im leaving o2 now & taking both my contract to another
provider.

There's no way that this is true, as o2 have dedicated teams who monitor excessive usage and warn the offeder. After a warning GPRS is barred for the remainder of the bill cycle. After 2 warnings, on the 3rd month of usage the GPRS facility is barred permanently.

I've seen this happen to people with usage of 6GB after a week so o2 would have barred this account well before then.

Dont take any notice of this troll! wink

I think this thread is hilarious, i mean what kind of KNOB posts on an o2 forum about how much he abuses the FREE unlimited data...!

Could someone correct me, but did he say he tethers his phone for usage...??? Cos that is clearly a breach of the terms and conditions if he has hacked the iPhone to tether, and o2 could surely terminate his contract without notice....!

I am a heavy user of the iphone, and i watch about 2 hours of streamed Slingbox every day of the week on top of everything else i do on the phone, and i still struggle to do 4Gb a month and that is including the wifi usage...! Which i estimate is about half of that... Fair usage is a very vague term i thin in o2's dictionary, but i do believe that it is nearly impossible to break there fair usage if you DO NOT use tethering...! The phone is just not quick enough and if it was it would need to be constantly plugged into a power source..!

Anyway, that is my thoughts on the subject... wink

yeah of course o2 wont stop you using it. becasue they will be rubbing their hands together when they charge you 2 quid for every 5 meg over your 500meg limit.

Because thats not going to happen. It's already been said they will not charge extra for going over the 500mb limit. The speed simply decreases.

from october they will charge you. i spoke to a customer service guy in the shop and you will be able to use the next 500 but once you go over thats it speed slows down and they can charge you £5 for every time you go over

They will not charge you for going over, your speed will decrease until it's at a snails pace. Then it is your choice if you want to buy a bolt on. And from October it is only new and upgrading customers who will have a 500mb limit on their data. All existing customers will remain the same - unlimited.

For confirmation look at the press release here:

http://news.o2.co.uk/Press-Releases/O2- ... l-2a3.aspx

It states: Existing customers will continue under their present terms, unlimited data usage with an Excessive Use Policy.

Thing is even though its "unlimited" its still subject to a fair use policy and these policys cover detremental effect to other network users so if this person is hammering the network and effecting all users in that area when why on earth is hs still on the network and not kicked off.

The argument ive been having with 02 is very simple…….
O2 say that im affecting people in my area because im using all the bandwidth for my town…..
This is wrong…… im actually HELPING the people in my area and all o2 customers because if it wasn’t for people like me your fair usage policy would be 20meg… not 500meg…..
So 02 & all of you may think that im making it worse for you but in the long run im actually HELPING you.
Its me & the other 3% high users using so much data that demands download limits to increase. …
You’re all very welcome…. Thank you…

You are pretty arrogant aren't you. To put it bluny, o2 nor do any of the customers want you. Please, go elsewhere.
