I agree AF on one thing that most of the idiots do not seem to consider. Apple themselves seem to expect you to go by the 2 year cycle and am happy to go along with that. My phone is still in excellent nick and works great, some of my members are still using the original iphone.
So my cycle is to miss this upgrade but then get the refined one in 2011, quite happy with that. To me the iphone is a tool and going to get my moneys worth before getting another one.

Very wise Brendan, but don't Apple only offer a one year guarantee, and that's not worth much if you change colour! grin

I could be tempted with the latest iPhone, just for the aluminosilicate glass. Although this article did concern me http://gizmodo.com/5559977/first-broken ... -resistant

If I did go for the iPhone, I expect to still have it 2-3 years hence.

Hi AF, did you see the video where they tried to break the screen on the Dell Streak and failed?

Anyway, after saying I agreed with AF on one point earlier I am sadly going to have to retract that. Not because he has no time for iphone groupies, I am afraid when you get down to it I will have to add another area of agreement.

The reason is, that is a damn fine looking dog! Take him for a good run tomorrow AF! grin

sorry childhound i know my figures. 27 GIG..... 27000 MB....27000000KB
looking at my bill online now.

Then you should also know that 27gb is not possible in a weekend over 3G even if you never slept and you live on top of a mast.

27gb in 30 days is 909mb a day!! 37mb an hour, 646kb a minute, every minute non stop all day & night. Even if you are the undead & dont sleep it would be hard to get through that much data. Something smells funny round here.

ok look you guys must be crazy.... the o2 website say that 750 meg will be used with just 1.5 hours on the BBC iplayer. so basically with these new rules you will be able to watch 3/4 of ONE EPISODE of top gear on the iplayer & ALL YOUR DATA FOR THE MONTH will be gone. so no email, no apps, no youtube, no skype, no google maps, NO NOTHING FOR THE REST OF THE MONTH. so whats the point in even having an iphone. 30 quid a month on a 400 quid phone to be sent back to the stone ages & not be able to use any of its features.

One episode on a computer, yes, but mobile-formatted content is of a lower quality.

O2 won't stop you from continuing to use data, you will just have to decide if watching Top Gear is so important to your life and emotional wellbeing that it's worth paying £5 for, or if you can wait until you get home.

(Deja vu?)

yeah of course o2 wont stop you using it. becasue they will be rubbing their hands together when they charge you 2 quid for every 5 meg over your 500meg limit.

thats what this is all about. 02 getting more money out of people who actually use all of the ihpones features. & whats the point in saying " just watch it when you get home?"

why dont you just not have a mobile phone at all & make calls when you get home if it that easy????

or all go back to using green screen nokia 702's because we have computers at home???? what a stupid thing to say. if technology companies put the technology out there for us then they need to provide the service for us to fully utilise its features.... otherwise whats the point?? just use yoghurt pots with long string on them....much cheaper.
