Can anyone tell me why 02 aren't being shown-up for having a dirty-tricks department. They must have one; how else can you explain a company that would gobble-up all the Google Nexus 4 handsets that would normally cost £269 from Google, and hike the price to £400?

The Nexus 4 costs more for O2 and the other networks to buy due to subsidies. Hence the reason that the Play store is nearly always 'sold out'. The price is £389.00 at CPW and some independents and service suppliers don't even offer the phone on P&G.

Could it just be that google subsidise the phone on there own store?

It's a shop, they can sell for whatever price they can get, if you can get it for a better price elsewhere then do it.
I don't see any "dirty tricks" here.

It's simple. I'm prevented from buying a nexus 4 from Google because 02 has priority to buy them from Google. They do this in order to sell them on at a hugely inflated price. This prevents Joe Public buying one at Google's price. 02 is behaving like a cheap market trader who's seen a bargain so buys up the stock just to sell it on for more. In 02's case for much much much more. It isn't as though I can go elsewhere to get one at the 'fair' proce.

Absolute rubbish, the phone has been on sale twice at Google Play and has sold out.
You just missed the boat that's all.
You just need to wait until they have more stock.
