Galaxy S8 - How to sync with outlook calendar

Recently moved from iphone to Galaxy S8 and I cannot get it to sync with my outlook calendar.  I was assured this was possible and easy.  I need this for my work.  Can anyone tell me how to do it please?

Three dots top right, manage calendars, at bottom "add account"
Choose Microsoft active sync and sign in there.
Once done hit sync and it should pull it all in there.

Alas no.  I have handed the problem to my IT guy to sort out as it just isn't as easy as I was led to believe when I was talked into this phone.

In the end I have had to purchase an app called AkrutoSync to make it work.  Wasn't pleased to have to purchase something to make it work, but it seems to have done the trick.

My outlook calendar syncs automatically through the exchange service on my Z5.
I just added the email account and then ticked the options to sync calendar and contacts and exchange does everything else automatically.

Had to google AkrutoSync as I had never heard of it before. I learn something new on here every day!
