Hi, I am currently an iPhone 5 user, pay monthly with 1GB data.
I am currently abroad in South Korea and I have switched off my cellular data by putting my phone into an airplane mode. However I have my wifi switched on, and have been using my home wifi since. On "My O2" application, it states no additional charges on "Recent Charges" banner due to Data or International.
Yet, I am not sure if by the end of the month, I will be charged for wifi usage.
Please contact me as soon as possible to confirm it to me and make it absolutely clear so that I can not spend my time worrying about this.
Many thanks.

O2 don't charge for Wi-fi, you can only be charged for any cellular data you use.

Thank you, but out of curiosity, when I used my Blackberry 9300, I had my wifi turned on with data, is "data" why it cost me so much at time?

1 we are all customers here.
If you have done the following i.e. turned cell data off, data roaming off and then gone into airplane mode then activated wifi still in airplane mode you should not get any data charges. Wifi is seperate from your contract and o2 cannot bill you for it.
If on your home wifi then you pay the supplier of your broadband to use that service.

hi everyone,
I am going abroad to Thailand and will be taking my iphone 5. This is the first time I have taken my iphone 5 away with me so I dont want to receive any silly data charges when I get back to the UK. Just to make sure I dont get any of these silly expensive charges do I turn off the following:
Mobile data?
3G?
Data Roaming?
Any help and advice would be much appreciated
Thanks
