Hello all, I'll make this quick as Im at my wits end with these people. In the past I was getting calls from someone claiming to be from 02, I went into a Live Chat and asked them if these where actually from O2 and was told "O2 does not call there customers" So it was someone who had brought my contact details and was fishing for my details! I then asked the Guru to block these numbers and he did and for the past 8 months(at a guess) I've had no issue! Now another one has come out of the wood work and I wish for this number to be blocked! I dont want to change my number because "Why should I have too" and I dont want to PAY for an App to block a number because once again "Why should I have to pay for something that can be done for free!" and it can be done for free, as it has been done for free in the past!
Been on the Live chat to three Gurus and all they have done is told me what I already know and redirected me to Apps (Including Jailbroken Apps) This morning I asked to be transfered to a manager hoping they would know what to do and not constantly say "We can't block numbers" because as stated I know they can! In the end floor manager Richard was just as bad as the team he runs and once again sugested an app...THAT DOESNT EXSIST! I then asked how much it would cost to cancle my contract and he rufesed to tell me without my confermation details! So not to mention talking to me like I am crazy and must have drept having numbers blocked in the past, redirecting me to payed survises outside of Apple and )2, they just ran be in curcals like they where not even reading what I was putting! I told Richard about the cold callers in the pasyt and his respomnce was "Do you want to stop reciving O2 marketing calls?"...is this guy for real? So I have given up and come here to ask two things!
1)Anyone eles get this terrable service?
2)Is there any Guru that will block a number like they did in the past!
Solved! Go to Solution.

Hi,
You can sign up to this http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/index.html
Generally ive not heard of 02 blocking numbers but instead change your number once for free..
Thankfully the next iOS7 for the iPhone will have this spec as stock.
Im jailbroken and have used iblacklist in the past with varying results.
Live Chat are not manned by 02 Guru's they are non Uk outsourced call-centres whose operators generally work from a script.

O2 have never been able to stop numbers from calling you.

Even though they already have in the past?

Although they havent previously in the past, as has already been mentioned.
O2 maybe don't call their customers, but their partners certainly do and as such will likely have been one of these companies that was calling you 8 months ago...and another one is doing it now.
When you previously had the number "blocked" the chances are that the customer services rep either made changes to your account saying you didnt wish to be called, or as the last rep you spoke to mentioned, removed you from the O2 marketing calls database.
Have you made any changes to your account recently? Have you changed your contract, tariff or phone? It could be that either one of these has reset whatever the Rep did 8 months ago and you will now recieve calls again.
This is all conjecture of course as I have never worked in Customer Services for O2 so I dont know what their options are with regard to removing your details from recieving calls from partner companies. What I do know is that they do not and can not block numbers.
