Just a quick question regarding the iPhone 6. Will customers due an upgrade for their phone be given priority over pre-orders of the iphone 6?

Reading through just the first 2 pages of that Sony Z2 pre-orders (the thread is 105 pages long!!!) thread, it seems that O2 were taking pre-orders even when they did not know on which date the phone was to be released?!

Also, O2 were the last ones to recieve allocations of this handset, when compared to P4U and CPW. People were stating that the high street shops had the handsets even before O2's online website confirmed that they also had the phone in stock....

This is bringing back very bad memories of the iPhone 5 launch and isn't filling me with ANY confidence on O2's ability to even take and fullfill pre-orders for the iPhone 6 after launch :smileysad::smileysad:

Looks like a phone call to a high street shop or buying direct from Apple (if you have the cash up front!) is gonna be a better way of getting one on launch day.......

There will be phones available on launch day for SOME of the pre-orders, but not everyone will be successful, that's for sure....

Even more reason to open a 'pre-order section early....so you know how many you have to buy in?...

....Or do network providers only get allocated a certain amount of new phones?

Each Network I'm sure will be talked with at higher level by Apple on what they could expect in units. If the networks then decide to take more orders than the agreed number, then it must be a backlash they must be willing to accept.

If Apple do restrict order quantities then I've seen no official evidence apart from conspiracy theories.

We're all expecting the issues again this year, me included so it would be nice to see a change this year. (Me thinking positive thoughts again. wink )

I was talking pretty generally BoB about the allocation of new phones being restricted......?

We all know about the iPhone 6 coming out...but the Note 4 is also being released so my question would have to be general ...rather than specifically aimed at Apple devices?
