iPhone 3 GPS issues

Anonymous
Not applicable
My iPhone 3 only provides a GPS position when an app first asks for it; if you change position whilst the app is open the position on the app does not change, you have to shut the app and then open it again to get the new position. Any ideas how to get it to track the position continuously?

The same thing happens regardless of the app. It did work ok until recently.

Did you do a phone reset from back up or as a new phone?

Alternatively, you could book in at Apple for the phone to be looked at in the Genius Bar as it may be an issue with the antenna in the phone.

Have you updated the software on the phone recently? If not, have you tried a reboot?

GPS will only update if you have a good line of sight to the satellites? Are you in an area where you should get good coverage?

Have you always had this problem or is it just recently?

Also, your phone is not jailbroken is it?

Software was updated to the most recent edition and a system reset has been done.

Line of site of satellites is not an issue as other phone with GPS works.

Any other ideas as it did work a while ago (which was probably the software version before)
