iOS 7 : Available on Wednesday 18/9/13.

Hi,

iOS7 from Apple will be available for download on Wednesday 18th of September 2013.

The update will be available for :

iOS 7.jpg

Now is the time to carry out some homework on this release, as its not just an update to iOS6 , its a full UI overhaul.

Ensure your idevice battery is 80% +

If your low on internal memory then think about deleting unused apps, music, videos, pictures, tones and e mails etc, to allow the update to proceed.

First update your iTunes to the newest availabe version.

You can achieve this by opening up iTunes and clicking on.... 'Check for Updates'

Carry out a sync of your idevice.

Then create a back up to iTunes and iCloud, or both.

Then when you hook up your idevice to iTunes and click on the device name, if the iOS7 update is available, you will see the appropriate message saying so.

Be patient as Apples servers will be maxed out, and as such the update may not be available to you at first. Keep checking.

Ensure you have left enough down time for the update to complete.

Sit back and wait  slight_smile

Any users who have jail-broken their idevices are advised to abstain from updating.

I hope to install iOS7 tomorrow once I get up from working a night shift.

Everything is either backed up on iCloud or/and on PC. Smiley Very Happy

Just once question - how will Tu Go cope? Will i need to redo all the contacts etc in that app?

Ditto but doing it over the air as clicking the update button on the Device summary page when connected to PC insists there is no update.

Hmm software update failed - twice.  And as before, updating via PC says 6.1.4 is current.

Okay, re-booted phone still says software failed, and on PC 6.1.4 is up to date.

And I've had to agree to the new terms and conditions four times now!!!

I shall now have a go using my iPad.
